London Film Lighting Workshops was started by cinematographer Lorenzo Levrini to transmit his passion for light to students, cinematography lovers and fellow filmmakers. Drawing on his experience as a professional cinematographer of features, commercials, shorts, TV, promos and more, as well as his time teaching at film societies and London Metropolitan University, Lorenzo teaches lighting by combining practical knowledge with a sound theoretical framework, always with a hands-on component, as no concept is truly learnt until you’ve applied it yourself.

Our workshops are supported by Elstree Light & Power, a lighting services provider based at Elstree Studios, who have provided kit and support to films such as The Dark Knight and Inception and shows such as Top Gear and BBC Proms. ELP provides us with a range of gear for our workshops, so that we can give students practical experience working with the lighting kit they would find on a professional set.
